Add your resume and the job post

That is all we need. Interview details are optional, and we never add experience you did not provide.

  1. 1Upload your resume
  2. 2Add the job post
  3. 3Get your interview plan
  4. 4Practice with AI
1

Upload a file or paste your resume. We only use the experience you provide.

2

Upload or paste the full job post so the practice matches this role.

Add LinkedIn, portfolio, or another career sourceOptional

Use more than a one-page resume

Add as many source links as you need, then paste the relevant profile, project, or work-history text. A link labels the source; only content you provide is treated as evidence.

For LinkedIn, upload your profile PDF or data export, or paste your own profile text. InterviewThread does not scrape LinkedIn or treat a URL alone as proof.

Why this exists

Generic AI can write fast. It cannot know what is true about you.

Job descriptions can feel overwhelming, and generic AI drafts often sound inaccurate or unlike you. We help you understand the role, use only your real experience, and practice until you feel ready—especially when interviewing in a second language.

01

Stay truthful

Turn your real resume into stronger answers without inventing skills, results, or experience.

02

Understand the job

Translate a complicated job description into the evidence, gaps, and questions that matter most.

03

Practice with confidence

Rehearse realistic follow-up questions and get feedback grounded in the role and your own story.

Frequently asked questions

Simple answers before you start.

What you need, what InterviewThread does, and what always stays under your control.

01Will InterviewThread invent achievements for me?

No. Every suggestion must trace back to evidence you provide. Missing proof stays visible as a real gap.

02What do I need to get started?

One real resume and one real job description are enough. Adding your interview date or application stage makes the preparation plan more useful. Optional: add LinkedIn, GitHub, a portfolio, personal website, public resume, or another career profile for fuller context. Upload an export or paste the relevant content; a URL alone is never treated as proof.

03Is the match result an ATS score?

No. It maps each important requirement to strong, partial, or missing evidence instead of claiming one universal ATS score.

04Do I need an account?

Guest mode: your interview history and practice progress will not be saved.

05Which documents can I import, and are they private?

Common PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, text, and OpenDocument files are parsed in your browser by default. Scans or legacy files may need OCR or conversion first.

06Does InterviewThread apply to jobs automatically?

No. The public open-source version never submits an application for you. You review and control every action.

07Can I use it worldwide and in my language?

The interface supports 40 languages and worldwide filters. Live job and market coverage depends on approved sources available for each region.

08What is sent when I use Read question aloud?

When cloud read-aloud is configured, only the current question text and selected language are sent to ElevenLabs / Microsoft Azure Speech. The question itself may include short role, evidence, or gap terms derived from your resume or job post, but the full documents are not sent. Your answer, transcript, and raw audio are not sent, and InterviewThread does not save the returned audio. If cloud speech is unavailable, it falls back to the browser or device voice. Auto-read sends only the current question and selected language to ElevenLabs. If unavailable, Azure Speech is used. Both providers may retain request data under their policies.

09What is sent when I answer by voice?

When signed in, your browser creates a live draft. After you stop, the audio, selected language, and up to 80 role terms go to ElevenLabs Scribe first, with Microsoft Azure Speech as a fallback. InterviewThread does not store or log the raw audio; providers may process or retain it under their policies. In Voice interview mode, choosing “Finish answer & continue” sends the completed transcript as your answer so it can be scored and the interviewer can ask a follow-up or start a new topic. In Text mode, the transcript stays editable until you review it and press Send. Your browser creates captions and may use its vendor’s speech service. InterviewThread does not upload or save audio. In Voice interview mode, choosing “Finish answer & continue” submits the completed transcript for scoring and the next question. In Text mode, the transcript stays editable until you review it and press Send. Coached voice requires separate consent each time. The current recording is sent to ElevenLabs to return a transformed practice voice. The returned audio is kept only temporarily in this browser for playback and is not automatically submitted. InterviewThread does not store or log it; ElevenLabs may process or retain it under its policy.
